Industrial Design Project: Purina Dog Snack Container
Some of my clients are only looking for 2D Design Concepts, meaning they don't need 3D CAD, instead, rapid ideas to give their in-house Engineering & Marketing teams new ideas in which to facilitate the brainstorming & problem-solving process.
2D Concept thumbnails, generated with pen & light shading, allow rapid visualization and collaboration through the digital pipeline. Once these rough concepts have established a design direction, or intent, I clean them up in Photoshop allowing for a more refined illustration of the concept.
Multiple 2D Concept Renderings, or Illustrations, are created to supply client with a range of options which can be evaluated for manufacturing & market feasibility.
A common technique to employ when providing a client with many concepts is to create a range, from, "Step to Leap", in regard to complexity of the design. These are a sample selection of, "Form Studies", using such range.
